Bled Lake is known as the „Symbol of Slovenia's beauty“. This Alpine lake with an island in the center and its own castle is one of Slovenia’s landmarks. Traditional wooden boats – pletnas – have been taking visitors to the island for centuries. These boats are operated by standing rowers known as pletnars. At the beginning of the 20th century, Lake Bled was considered to be the most beautiful health resort in Austria-Hungary. Bled Castle, located on the nearby hillside, is the oldest Castle in Slovenia as well as a Museum of its kind. Its terraces offer spectacular views of the lake and the island.
In this round trip you will:
- walk around the beautiful Bled lake (swim if you are a swimmer),
- ride on the traditional wooden boat to the Bled island,
- enjoy landscape views from the top of the Bled Castle,
- eat in a traditional Slovenian restaurant.
